Willie Pogues, of LA Bridges works hard. He prays that we don't have an event at the end of this, the beginning of the holiday season, that we did last year, when the last minutes of 2005 were marked by a murder on an Atwater Village street.
We are all hoping for a safe holiday season now through the end of the year, but there have been incidents... shots heard, helicopters circling the sky and break-ins. Report it. To the police. To your neighbors. Be informed and stay alert to what is going on in our village...
We got word that Grain, the vintage furniture shop on Glendale Boulevard, was robbed Wednesday night around 8:45 pm. At least three guys with guns allegedly entered through the back door (alley side), which was not locked. They left out the front door.
Remember if you hear or see anything, PLEASE call it in. If it seems life-threatening, call 911. Otherwise, call 877- ASK-LAPD. If what you hear sounds close to where you live, call your neighbors. Having a safe holiday season depends on being cautious and aware.
Thank you to the Atwater Village Neighborhood Watch for keeping the community informed of this information that we are passing along to anyone who might have missed it.
